🧪 Testers with a spare computer
Our most important test is a non-technical person installing this on a real machine in a real house. If you have a spare desktop or laptop you can erase, a USB stick, and an honest streak — “I got stuck here” is exactly the report we need. You do not need to be technical. If you can follow a recipe, you're qualified.
🔍 Security reviewers
The design documents, external reviews, and build logs are all public. Read them adversarially. Try to break the built system. Coordinated disclosure, credit given, ego not involved — two outside reviews have already changed this design for the better.
🛠️ Builders & rebuilders
Debian packaging, Python, Calamares, Podman, Tor — or the patience to rebuild our ISO from source and check that you get bit-identical output. A release only counts as verified when independent rebuilders match it.
Interested? Reach out on Twitter — @CameronRuggles — or introduce yourself in the Vespiary forum, and tell us which of the three you are (tester / reviewer / builder) — and for testers, roughly what spare machine you have. Adults only, please — the project is positioned 18+.
